When does the degree progrmme commence?

This programme has two intakes per year: April and October. Therefore, programme commences in April and October respectively.

No. Although the classes begin in October or April, applications must be sent in in advance. Applying for the April admission is therefore due by March, and for the October intake by September.

The University of London is a federation – which is a collection of Universities and therefore a transfer option is not available as of now. The entire programme will be completed in Sri Lanka

The awarding body is the University of London and the Kings College London provide the academic direction for this programme.

What it means is they are the ones who develop the curricula, prepare the study materials, and are responsible for the summative assessment of students.

Since the University of London is a collection of other Universities there is no ranking for the University of London. The ranking for each of the Universities providing the academic direction should be considered. In this case. King’s College London, is ranked 20th in the world (QS World University Rankings 2021 for Psychology)

The usual criterion is known as the Direct entry criterion and an applicant must meet below criteria.

Applicant’s age must be 17+ by the registration deadline of the enrolment session Three UK GCE A-levels at grade DDE or an acceptable equivalent; and one of these A-levels must be obtained in Mathematics, Psychology or Biology at grade A – D. UK GCSE Mathematics grade A – C / 9 – 4 or equivalent A minimum of Credit pass (C pass) for English at Ordinary Level Examination or equivalent Pass the internal Admission Test and interview

No issues. You have two mare pathways you can opt for- Performance route and International Foundation Programme

This is a route you can opt for when you do not meet the criteria for the direct entry route. For this, you should meet below criteria.

 Applicant’s age must be 18+ by the registration deadline of the enrolment session have passed at least six separate subjects at GCSE or GCE O level or equivalent; and one of these GCSEs must be obtained in Mathematics, at grade A – C/9 – 4 or equivalent. To be admitted onto the full BSc programme, the applicant must pass two required modules with an overall result of 40% or above, with at least 40% in each element of assessment. Pass the internal Admission Test and interview.

The difference is actually based in the entry requirements. For direct entry route you need your A/L and need to have either Psychology, Biology, or Math as one of your subjects. For performance entry route you only need your O/L. The ones who enroll in to the programme via direct entry route can complete their degree within 3 years whereas for the ones who opt for performance entry route, it takes 3.5 years. The modules taken, assessment methods, lecturers, and everything else if identical for both routes. It’s just the duration that differs.

You will be learning 23 modules.

You have an individual research project. You select your topic, you gather data, and you write your thesis. Of course with the support of the supervisor.  

Yes, you do. Your internship will take place in your second year second semester

Yes. Depending on your preference, your internship can be arranged. If you like clinical or counselling, your internship can be arranged at a clinical setting, if your preference is for an organizational setting, then the same can be arranged. Likewise, based on your preference, we will support you to find a proper internship.

There are very diverse career oppurtunities for you. You can work in academic settings, organizational settings, clinical settings, Law and enforcement, and many more.

With a bachelor’s degree you can’t become a psychologist. You need a MPhil, MSc., PhD, or a PsyD with the required clinical hours to register as a Psychologist
