The Centre for Quality Assurance (CQA) was established at Royal Institute Campus (RIC) in May 2023 as the institution’s central body responsible for promoting academic excellence, institutional effectiveness, and continuous quality enhancement. As the custodian of RIC’s Strategic Plan, the Centre provides strategic leadership in embedding a culture of quality across teaching and learning, research, assessment, governance, and institutional operations.
The CQA serves as the institutional focal point for planning, coordinating, implementing, monitoring, and reviewing quality assurance and quality enhancement initiatives. Working collaboratively with Faculties, Academic Support Services, Administrative Divisions, and students, the Centre promotes evidence-based practice, innovation, accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
The Centre advances institutional excellence through three strategic priorities: Academic Quality and Teaching Excellence, strengthening teaching, learning, curriculum, assessment, and the overall learning experience; Research Excellence and Research Culture, enhancing research quality, research capacity, scholarly dissemination, and institutional research initiatives, including the INSPIRE International Research Conference; and Institutional Quality Enhancement and Operational Excellence, advancing institutional effectiveness through operational excellence, service quality, and continuous improvement.
The Centre for Quality Assurance is led by the Head of CQA and operates under the strategic guidance and oversight of the Board of Governors of RIC. The CQA is supported by a Management Committee (MC) that facilitates institution-wide collaboration, reviews quality initiatives, and supports continuous quality enhancement.
The Management Committee comprises representatives from all Faculties of Study and key Academic Support, Administration, Finance, and institutional divisions.

The QA Academic Team comprises Quality Assurance Coordinators representing the academic programmes of RIC and works closely with the CQA to embed quality assurance and continuous improvement within academic delivery.
Promote and coordinate quality assurance and quality enhancement activities within the respective academic programmes in liaison with the CQA and relevant academic committees.
Support Institutional Reviews, Programme Reviews, self-evaluations, and other internal and external quality reviews, including the preparation of required documentation and follow-up actions.
Monitor and analyse key academic quality indicators, including student feedback, peer review, stakeholder feedback, and graduate outcomes, to identify areas for improvement.
Facilitate the implementation and monitoring of quality improvement actions arising from reviews, feedback, and institutional quality initiatives.
Promote the sharing of good practices across programmes and recommend improvements to strengthen teaching, learning, assessment, and the overall academic experience.
The Examination Unit was established at Royal Institute Campus (RIC) in May 2024 as an independent unit to strengthen the quality, integrity, fairness, and consistency of examinations and academic assessments. Working collaboratively with Faculties, Academic Coordinators, examiners, and moderators, the Unit ensures compliance with approved institutional regulations, policies, and academic standards while safeguarding academic integrity.
The Unit is coordinated by the Assistant Registrar – Examination, who serves as a member of the CQA Management Committee (MC). This representation facilitates effective coordination between examination governance and the institutional quality assurance framework while preserving the operational independence of the Examination Unit.
